There is such intensity of colour, shape, observation and energy in the landscapes of Robert Parker that one cannot but help notice the artist's deep communion with his subject at the moment of painting. The works are indeed painted in situ.

Robert Parker's city subjects fall within two categories: the works which focus on a bird's eye view of the urban fabric and those tha focus on London's cloudy skies. The selection here comes from the second group. The works give back to the city a dimension that is often missing from panoramas, following in the footsteps of Constable and also those anonymous artists who first forged the image of London in the first half of the 17th century.
